Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography (Spect) in Patellofemoral Pain Patients

Abstract
|
|
|
28 patients (43 knees0 with the clinical diagnosis of patellofemoral pain were examined with plain radiography and SPECT bone scintigraphy.
The patients ranges in age from 15 to 39 years with mean age of 26.8 year (Male: Female= 1 : 2.5).
@ES Following results were obtained :
@EN 1. The sensitivity of SPECT for the diagnosis of th patllofemoral pain syndrome was 65.1%. The sensitivity of roentgenogram (Merchant view) was 37.%.
2. the sensitivity of SPECT for the diagnosis of the patellofemoral pain syndrome was 25% in the 15 ~ 19 year age group and 75%, 73% in the 20 ~ 29 year, 30 ~ 39 year age group respectively.
3. Radionuclinde uptake was increased only on the lateral side in 75% of patellae with increased uptake and 92% of femoral trochleae with in creased uptake.
